Where is the milfoil now?

First, have a look at this map. It shows all of the known infestations by invasive plants in Maine. You'll see that Raymond is surrounded by lakes with invasive colonies (including Sebago.) Fortunately, no invasives have yet been found in the other Raymond lakes, but if we're not vigilant, it won't be long. We can't be complacent and assume it's "just a Sebago problem."

And speaking of Sebago, milfoil has been found in all of these locations around the lake.

Anyone who puts a boat into Sebago is at risk of spreading the plants even further. So please welcome the Courtesy Boat Inspector at the boat ramp; if there's no CBI on duty, inspect your own boat (hull, intakes/outlets, lines, anchors, live wells, motors and propellors, rudders, ski ropes) and trailer (frame, wheels, bunks, lights, lines, straps, hooks, etc.) both putting in and taking out. Dispose of all plant material in suitable receptacles, or well away from the water.

What is milfoil?

But we've had it forever?
