Starting in 1995 with a group of greater than 25 people, and currently having only 9 active members, we have still managed to accomplish so many wonderful things. The following is not an all-inclusive list:
Annual Golf Tournament; Bike Rodeo and free helmets for Jordan Small students; Student of the Month awards for Jordan Small students; pancake breakfasts for Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby; sponsorship of a Raymond Recreation baseball team and sign; Kindergarten eye screens; Annual Christmas tree lighting in conjunction with Raymond Village Library; contributions to the Veterans Memorial Park on Rte 302.
We hold FUNdraising events in order to make generous monetary contributions to causes that enable us to help a greater number of people, such as Meals on Wheels, Raymond Food Pantry, Good Shepard Food Pantry, Blind Bowlers, The Iris Network, Fidelco-training of guide dogs for the blind, Raymond Village Library's Large Print Collection, holiday-themed parties for children and adults with special needs.
We are also very proud to be able to self-fund two scholarships a year for traditional and non-traditional students. The money to do this is soley raised from our bottles and cans donation points in town.
There is no limit to need; there is also no limit to what is possible when people work together for the common good.
