Warrant for Town Meeting

Wednesday October 27, 1999

TO: Louise H. Lester, a resident of the Town of Raymond, in the County of Cumberland and State of Maine.

GREETINGS:

In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Raymond, qualified by law to vote in Town affairs, to meet at Town Hall, in said Town of Raymond on Wednesday October 27, 1999, at 7:00 PM, then and there to act on the following articles:

Article 1: To elect a moderator to preside at said meeting.

Article 2: To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to resell all or part of the property located at 412 Webbs Mills Road owned by the Town (formally owned by Lori M. F. Davis and Ora M. Davis, Jr.) and to give the Selectmen discretion to determine in the best interests of the Town the details and terms of sale of all or part of the property along with any property owned by the Town on abutting property and to execute any contracts, deeds and related documents?

The Board of Selectmen and Budget Finance Committee recommend adoption of this article.

Article 3: To see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate from both the municipal undesignated general fund balance and the school department undesignated fund balance for the construction of an engineered septic system to be used by the Jordan Small School, such septic system to replace the present system which has failed.

The Board of Selectmen, School Committee, and Budget Committee recommend appropriating $75,000 from the school department undesignated fund balance and $132,286.23 from the municipal undesignated general fund balance.

Article 4: To see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate from undesignated fund balance for the purchase and installation of a generator to be located at the Jordan Small School, such generator to be used as a back up power supply for protection of the facility and emergency shelter services.

Note: At the March 20, 1999 Town Meeting, voters authorized $20,000 for a generator. It has since

been realized that the original generator specified for Jordan Small School was not adequate and

an additional $30,700 must be appropriated for a total project cost of $50,700, therefore an

additional $30,700 must be appropriated.

The Board of Selectmen and School Committee recommend an amount not to exceed $30,700.

There was a motion by the Budget Finance Committee to approve the amount requested and the motion failed.

Hereof fail not have you then and there, this Warrant with your doings thereon.

GIVEN UNDER OUR HANDS AND SEALS IN THE Town of Raymond, this nineteenth day of October 1999.
