Second Round of Maine Laptops Initiative
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Jordan-Small Middle school will participating in the Maine Laptop Initiative, along with every middle school in Maine. This initiative will lower the JSMS computer ratio to one computer for every two students The completion of the first 4 years of the Maine Laptop Intitiative has been very successful. The students and staff have learned a great deal about learning in the 21st Century. All 7th and 8th grade students have access to a laptop computer on a wireless network all day, every day. Students, under parental supervision, have been allowed to take home the Maine laptops. The impact on classroom instruction has been an amazing transformation. The opportunity to bring education fully into the 21st century is very exciting. MLTI - Laptop Parent Information Packet |

| One - to -One Computing for Grades 5 and 6 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Not to be left out, Jordan-Small 5th and 6th Grade Students are also experiencing education in the 21st Century. Three rolling computer labs have been established for the use of all fifth and sixth graders.
Presently, we have 1: 2 ratio of computers to students. Ultimately, we would like to create 1:1 computing for the entire middle school. |
