Library Hours
The library is normally open 27 hours each week. If winter weather is questionable, please call 655-4283. 
The Library is closed on these holidays:  New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.

    Circulation Periods

Two week circulation period

Renewals in person or by phone

Outside book drop

Interlibrary loan (ILL) time determined by the lending agency

Reference materials normally do not circulate

    Holds/Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

"Holds/reserves" request may be placed in person or by phone

Patrons notified as soon as practicable if the request can be filled
Patrons notified by phone when the requested item is available and
have one week to pick up the item

Main concern: that materials be returned

"Conscience jar" for late return donations

Library Services

Interlibrary Loan Service - access to books that the library does not have. This service is free of charge to library patrons.

Copier - available for patron use at 10¢ per page.

Computer - Go anywhere in the world with our free Internet access. Word processing, games and other programs are also available. Walk-ins are welcome, or call ahead to reserve your time.

Storytime - features "Baby Time," finger-plays and songs for babies up to 18 months; "Toddler Time," stories, songs and movement for children from 18-36 months; "Preschoolers," stories and movement, followed by a craft/activity.

"Libraries Are For Babies, Too" is run by Sue Ellen Gendron and is designed to introduce parents with new babies to the library's resources and to provide a chance to meet with each other. Each family receives a small tote bag containing a board book for the child and a book on reading to children for the parent.

Portland Museum of Art - The library has a free pass; call for information.

Casco Library - Raymond and Casco libraries offer borrower privileges to the residents of both towns with no fee. The Casco library is open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 10am.- 8pm.

"Let Us Come To You!" - The Raymond Village Library has an outreach program to improve community access to library materials. If you are unable to come to the library for physical or transportation reasons, or if you are home with small children who are sick, a library volunteer will deliver or return books, magazines or videos. To register for this program, call the library at 655-4283.

    You will need:
1) An active Raymond Village Library card number. If you're not sure of your number or its status, phone the library at (207) 655-4283 or e-mail us at rlibrari1@maine.rr.com;
              2) The OverDrive "console" software, which you install on your own computer or other device. It's available right at the Download Library website and is a quick and easy installation. You'll also find all kinds of Help, a Guided Tour of the service and a Quick Start Guide. Not finding what you want for books?  Check back often. This is a new service, and titles are being added continuously as they become available.

Maine's Virtual LibraryMulti-Database Resource - Thousands of magazines, newspapers and reference books are now available online in all libraries and schools, and from any Internet-connected computer anywhere in the State of Maine. http://www.maine.gov/marvel . The Raymond Village Library is a community based informational, educational and recreational facility 
dedicated to providing quality library service and resources in a welcoming atmosphere.  
The library will be responsive to the changing needs of the community, cooperate with other entities
