The Town of Raymond welcomes new businesses to the area and the staff make every effort to make this process a seemless one. We have created this guide to help to keep you informed and give you easy access to the resources that you will need to complete your project goals.
Thank you for choosing Raymond as the location of your new business!
Step One: Applying for a Business Licence with the Town Clerk
You will need to complete this FORM and bring them into the Town Clerk with $10.
The materials will be reviewed to make sure that no additonal actions are required. Part of this is to make sure that the area that you have chosen for your business is a permitted use per Raymond's Land Use Ordinance (LUO).
There are instances where you may have to go before the Planning Board for a Site Plan Review, per Article 10, Section 2 of the LUO, or the Appeals Board, if your location is not a Permitted Use for your Zone.
Change of Use or New Construction?
Even if you are not building a new structure, if your business proposal changes the useage of the building, you will have to apply for a Change of Use permit, because each business has its own set of IBC 2009 codes and Life Saving measures that each calls for.
