Raymond Village Library is open to the public for the purposes of reading, studying, viewing and borrowing materials. It is the mission of the Raymond Village Library to provide a full range of library services to individuals regardless of age, sex, marital status, race, nationality, or physical or mental disability or sexual orientation.

To better serve the library patrons, the Raymond Village Library Board of Trustees has established certain rules to maintain an atmosphere that promotes these services, protects library resources and fosters safety for all patrons and library staff.

While in the library or on library property no patron shall:

  • Smoke
  • Use a cell phone in the building for an extended amount of time
  • Take photographs of any individuals without their permission
  • Damage or deface or misuse library materials or equipment
  • Bring animals into the library except those required for personal assistance or as permitted by the Library Director
  • Engage in loud or boisterous conduct
  • Engage in abusive language or abusive behavior toward any other patron or library staff member
  • Solicit for any reason except as permitted by the Board of Trustees
  • Engage in conduct which disrupts any library program or interferes with the use or enjoyment of the library by others
  • Leave children (age 8 or under) or dependent persons unattended (See Unattended Children Policy)

Library Patrons who disregard staff requests to comply with the above policies may be asked to leave the library property. Patrons who repeatedly violate the behavior policy may have library privileges suspended for a time specified by the Library Director. Patrons whose privileges have been denied may request a review by the Board of Trustees.
