July's Book:

Peace Like a River by Leif Enger

Leif Enger's debut novel is a novel that begs to be read aloud.  Narrated by an asthmatic 11-year-old named Reuben Land, it is the story of the Land family and their journey across the frozen Badlands of the Dakotas in search of the fugitive older brother Davy.  Charged with murder, Davy Land has fled knowing that the scales of justice will not weigh in his favor.  Reuben, his father, Jeremiah (a man of faith so deep he has been known to produce miracles) and Reuben's little sister, Swede, follow behind the fleeing Davy to find and save him.

Please note the book group meeting for July will be held in person at the library and will also be accessible via Zoom. If you would like to participate via Zoom option, please contact the library, or Melanie, the book club facilitator, by email for Zoom meeting web link and password.
